We Have Arrived!

Of course, since we got to the airport early, our plane left late.  We got to Reykjavik 2 1/2 hours later than anticipated.  The airport at Keflavik is little, but when Lars was last here, 15 years ago, it was TINY!  But you still go up and down as many times as at DIA….  Passport-control went quickly, and Customs is on the honor system, so if you get in the “Nothing To Declare” line, you just walk right on out the door.  Well, after enough twists and turns and doors to make people start to laugh, that is.

We were met by our Nordic Visitor taxi driver, who was chatty and informative on our 35-minute drive to Reykjavik proper.  We are now ensconced at Guesthouse Sunna, where they quit serving breakfast half an hour ago.  We are heading out in search of sustenance.

In case you want to know where Guesthouse Sunna is in Reykjavik, Google Reykjavik and look for Hallgrims Church. We are just across the street. The plus to that is that it is by far the tallest building, so, it will keep us from getting lost as we wander around. The negative is the church clock and its bells – hope they don’t keep us awake too much.

  1. Glad you guys arrived safely! Hope you found breakfast in short order. I checked out some of the pics posted on Google maps from the church tower and I can see your hotel from there. Very colorful roof tops! Looks really nice! Have a good day today! Love, Erika
